• As a wedding gift, our very talented photographer and friend spent the whole hot (and rainy), August day taking pictures of our wedding at no charge!!

Since most couples get more pictures taken on their wedding day than the day they were born, those of you out there still on the hunt for your own photographer know how important it is to feel comfortable with who you choose. So we were extremely grateful when he announced that he’d provide all our wedding photography.

So I was really shocked after our wedding when he said there was another gift - a gorgeous wedding album with all our photos printed and organized!!

    Paper Album Favor

The other day when I came across these cute favor photo albums ($2.50 each), I had to share them because what better gift to your guests than to do the same thing my photographer did for each of them?

You can give each couple a book at their table and then give them the ultimate thank you when you write your thank you cards - send them some photos of the event to go right inside. So easy and so cute! You can get them here.

  • One day I dug up a wedding invitation album from sometime in the 1980s for nostalgia’s sake. I was shocked by what I found there - some of the SAME exact wedding invitations that the big vendors are selling today! I have to admit that I enjoyed my leg warmers and daffy duck suspenders when I was a little girl, but A LOT has changed since the ’80s!

Since then, I’ve noticed a lot of “wedding frump” lingering in wedding catalogs and online shops. Truly, it’s everywhere. After talking to hundreds of brides looking for classic, unique elements they can include in their weddings to make it memorable and as a new bride myself, I think it’s time to let go of the poof and frills in favor of the sleek, organic and timeless.

So to you brides, grooms and moms out there who are with me, I created this blog and the Your Unique Wedding invitation shop to “de-frump” the wedding industry. We’re ready for weddings that are classic in every sense of the word. Here I will post fresh, new ideas you can use to make your wedding memorable and unique.

I always like to compare notes, so post your frump vs. classic wedding ideas in the comments section below:
